#1 Overlooked Cause of High Blood Pressure! – 4 min read

Before we discuss blood pressure, I’d like to share a foundational concept with you.

What do you think is the most important part of your body?

Is it your heart?  Your spinal cord? Your brain?  Or, is each part just as important as another?

The most important part of your body is your BRAIN. And, that is not just my opinion—it is a scientific fact.

Your body guards your brain more than any other part of your body.

How?

By shielding it and surrounding it with hard bone—your skull—with a small opening at the base for your brainstem.

Yes, your heart is crucial, yet it has only a few ribs to protect it.

Yes, your spinal cord is important; however, your spine is not a long hollow tube of bone, your spine is moveable.  And, it must be this way for bending, twisting and moving.

Because your brain is the most vital part of you, your body will change and adapt to ensure the brain is healthy.

Now that we’ve established a foundation, I want to share with you a very common cause of high blood pressure.

If a head and neck misalignment is the cause of high blood pressure, which it often is, what do you think will happen if you take medication to decrease the blood pressure?

No doubt your blood pressure will drop, but how do you think your brain will react?

The brain increased the body’s blood pressure in order to function optimally, and then suddenly it is “tricked” by a pill not to do so.

If I were your brain, I wouldn’t be happy . . .

Please know that we are NOT against medication. There is a time and place for most medications; however, we do want to inform you that it’s important to consider the relationship between the alignment of the head and neck and high blood pressure.

If you are questioning whether a head and neck misalignment might be the cause of your high blood pressure, please schedule a consult to see if we can help.

We strongly recommend starting with the NUCCA Assessment to detect the root cause of your high blood pressure.
